Thank God for His rich blessings on my family all these years.
Miracle healing in my body On 26th June, while I was doing my regular jogging, I had to stop after 5km when I felt a loss of feeling on my right arm. After massaging my right arm, the strength and sensation came back. The following day after lunch and around 3pm, I experienced this sudden loss of feeling in my right arm again. I went to my cardiologist and he told me to do a scan on my brain just in case there is a blood clot.
When the results came out, I was stunned. The doctor announced that there was a tumour in my brain. Subsequent tests revealed that I was suffering from Stage IV lung cancer. The doctor advised me to undergo the gamma knife ray on my brain and prescribed 4 cycles of chemo-therapy. This was a bombshell. My whole life was shattered with this news. I never expected this thing to happen to me as I am very health conscious. For many years, I have been taking many vitamins and supplements every day without fail and do exercise regularly. I felt lost, but at the same time, I know that God is teaching me.
All these years, I have only been a lukewarm Christian. God was absent in my heart and I only attended church as a duty. I never read the Bible and seldom prayed. Although I always tried to be a good witness to my business friends and I did not join them in their sinful activities, but privately I knew I was still sinning in my heart against God.
On the same Friday, I attended the Reinhard Bonke crusade held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. During the crusade, God opened my eyes and revealed that I had grown far away from Him. I responded to the altar call and cried out to Him and asked for forgiveness for my sins. I told God that I had sinned against Him and I knew that God was using the sickness to bring me back to Him. That night, the Holy Spirit filled me, I surrendered my life again to Him.
After that night, I started reading the Bible from the book of Matthew. God's word became very personal to me. Thru His words He has became so real that, when I felt discouraged because of my treatment and had attacks of fear, I am able to turn to Him. I would like to share with you the two verses that I cling on to. Isaiah 41:10 says: “Fear not for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Another verse that gave me comfort was John 14:14: “You may ask me for anything in My name and I will do it.” I was also very encouraged by the church brothers and sisters who came to visit me, prayed for me and my family and gave me many Bible verses. I also want to thank God that Brother Robin lent me the book titled “Is that really you God” by Loren Cunningham. Thru this book, God showed me that nothing is impossible for Him. He is a real and prayer-answering God who performs great miracles after miracles. My faith has increased tremendously and I believed that God could do the same for me. Amen!
After completing the gamma knife and 2 full cycles of chemo, I went for a CT scan and MRI. I thank God that the results showed that the cancerous growth had reduced by more than 40% and the brain tumour had reduced from 2cm to only 5mm! Now I have completed all 4 cycles of chemo and am going for a test soon and I believe that God will heal me.
Miracle healing in my family/worklife
God has also been gracious to my family. All these years, I did not guide my children in God's way and we did not have any prayers in the home at all. I only provided them with material things. And I told God that I wanted to bring the family back to His way. Thank God that on the same day, God touched the hearts of my 2 sisters, Shirley and Linda, in Australia who called me separately, telling me that I must pray together with my children. Praise God that this is His confirmation. Then we fixed our first prayer meeting.
On the day of the meeting, I prayed and asked God for something to share with my family. After praying, I came down to the dining table and God spoke to me to share on John 14 and He also supplied me with 6 to 7 other verses to share. I was very happy and went upstairs to re-arrange all the verses. Then I told my wife that I need to find where the verse about “faith coming from hearing and hearing by the Word of God” is. Thank God, at that moment, I opened my Bible and found the exact verse at Romans 10:17. This is my first sharing with my family and we had a good time together and truly felt the presence of God with us. Since then, we have weekly prayer meeting.
Last night we just had a prayer meeting and we felt the presence of God. After praying we continued to have good time of sharing and the family bond became very close. Thank God that thru this sickness, God has helped me to bring my family closer to God.
Praise God, our God is great. He also answered many of my prayers. He also gave me the courage to share the gospel with my friends and business associates whenever I can.
Brothers and Sisters, life is full of uncertainties. We don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. But our God is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. We can deceive ourselves but not our God. It is high time that we come back to God to love and trust Him.
